When the Florida sun is blazing, there’s no better escape than a cold scoop of something sweet. I’ve personally made the rounds to get the inside scoop (pun intended!) and here are my absolute favorite places in Boca and Delray to cool off:
Sloan’s Ice Cream – Boca Raton
This place is basically a fantasy land. I walked in and was instantly hit with the sweet scent of waffle cones and nostalgia. Their ice cream is rich and creamy, with over-the-top flavors like Cookie Monster and Circus Cookie that taste as fun as they look. Don’t skip the homemade brownies or chocolate-dipped waffle cones.
Carvel – Boca Raton
Sometimes you just want a classic soft-serve cone, and Carvel hits every nostalgic note. I stopped in for a swirl cone with rainbow sprinkles and was reminded why this place has been around for so long. It’s simple, delicious, and always consistent. Plus, their Flying Saucer ice cream sandwiches are a must.
Gelato & Co. – Delray Beach
For a more sophisticated treat, this gelato spot is hard to beat. The flavors are light, authentic, and made fresh daily. I tried the pistachio and stracciatella on a warm waffle cone, and it transported me straight to Italy. Great for a post-dinner stroll down Atlantic Avenue.
Creamy Flavors – Boca Raton
This was a delightful surprise. It’s a small shop tucked away in Boca but the flavor variety is wild—in the best way. I had a scoop of their Oreo cheesecake and mango sorbet (yes, together) and it totally worked. Everything tasted homemade, and the staff was super friendly with lots of samples.
Brendy’s Ice Cream at The Reserve – Boca Raton
A local gem with a community vibe. I stopped in after a long day and got a scoop of their peanut butter cup and coconut almond. It’s one of those places where everything feels extra creamy and indulgent. They also have sugar-free options, frozen yogurt, and other goodies if you’re looking for variety.
