I finally got around to trying Motek in Boca Raton—and let's be honest, I’m already planning my next visit. If you haven’t heard of it yet, Motek is a Mediterranean restaurant that originally made a name for itself in Miami and is located in the Aventura Mall. Their Boca location just opened in Restaurant Row near Town Center, and it’s seriously worth the hype!
From the moment you walk in, the space is modern but still cozy, with big windows, warm yellow tones, and a patio that’s perfect for a laid-back lunch or wine-filled dinner. It’s the kind of place that feels trendy but still welcoming. You can totally go dressed up for date night or just show up in your everyday Boca casual.
Now, the food—where do I even start? Everything I tried was full of flavor, super fresh, and felt homemade. I ordered the Arayes Burger (which they’re apparently known for—it’s already won awards), and it absolutely lived up to the hype. It’s basically spiced kufta stuffed into a crispy pita with tahini and harissa aioli. I also tried the hummus and their “Mushroom Dip,” which I wasn’t expecting to love as much as I did. The bread they serve with it is pillowy and warm, straight from the oven. And for those of you who like a little something exclusive, Boca’s Motek has a few menu items you won’t find in Miami—like the pastrami oven pita, which was smoky, savory, and unlike anything I’ve had before.
What I love most about Motek is that it doesn’t feel like just another restaurant. There’s a story behind it. It’s a family-run business inspired by Israeli, Lebanese, Moroccan, and Yemenite roots—and you can feel that in every dish. It’s kosher-style (not certified kosher), and while the food definitely feels elevated, it still gives off that comforting, homemade vibe.
